Sitting on the bus leaving Merida feels like the perfect time to reflect on the incredible experience I have had here in Mexico. I’ve been in the country for 6 weeks and worked with IVHQ and their local partner organization for 4 of those weeks. I had planned to head home a week ago but guess what, I’m still here.
All my bags are packed, I am ready to go. After 4 flights and 3 transit I reached Merida around 8am on the 21st December. Abraham, being a kind and patient program coordinator he is,
waited out for me with my name and everything on a fancy Volunteer Inn Mexico board.
Last winter I had the opportunity to work at two Maya Agriculture/Organic Farming/Permaculture projects in the Yucatan Peninsula under the auspices of the Institute of Modern Spanish in Merida and Volunteer Inn Mexico.
